Who?

Well, that's a common enough reaction to my name, so don't feel bad. You knew me as a child, even if you don't remember. I watched over your birth, protected and amused you in your crib. Can you remember the melodic tinkle of a rattle? Yup, that was me. My sistrum and my dancing not only entertained you, but chased away others who would harm you. You were ever under my watchful eye until you grew enough to watch out for yourself.

I protected the rest of your family, too, against whatever evil spirits might wish to bring hardship. Demons come in many forms, you know, and hunger, poverty, and sickness were often their result, and I did my best to keep them at bay.

But it's not all work and no play for this Jack. Oh, no. You're older now, and I hear there is a great party underway. Lots of beautiful women, too. Let's just say I have a thing for the ladies. Get it? A "thing" for the ladies! Oooh, baby, that's the stuff! So let's go, the night is a-wastin'.
